2021 Albariño
Our 2021 Albariño combines fruit from Quail Run and Schmidt Family Vineyards. Aromas of pear, apples and peach blossom lead the way to tastes of grapefruit, green apple, rhubarb and white pepper. The backdrop to this beautiful wine is a crisp yet smooth texture and minerality that beckons to a spring walk on Granite Mountains above the sea in the morning dew. Is that a Unicorn frolicking with a Mermaid on the beach below? No, it is just another Awen wine inspired moment with our 2021 Albariño.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Aromas of pear, apples and peach blossom lead the way to tastes of grapefruit, green apple, rhubarb and white pepper. The backdrop to this beautiful wine is a crisp yet smooth texture and minerality that finished long.
Vineyard Notes
We combined fruit from the Schmidt Family Vineyard and Quail Run's Crater View Vineyard for this vintage. The two sites offer distinct differences in terroir which add to the finished wine. The Crater View Site is lower elevation with the warmer climate of the Rogue Valley offering more tropical notes on the mature grapes. The Schmidt Family Site in the Applegate is higher elevation and a slightly cooler climate overall. This lends to the Stone Fruit and bright acidity of the finished wine.
Production Notes
Crushed and Skin soaked for 24 hours. Then pressed and fermented in Neutral French Oak barrels.
Food Pairing Notes
Seafood & Fatty meats pair well with this wonderful wine.
