2017 Viognier

At Awen we produce limited runs of boutique wines designed to reflect the beauty and bounty of Southern Oregon. Our wines exemplify the bond between the Earth, the Sun and the Vine.

Our 2017 Viognier is sourced from Pearl Family Vineyards in the Applegate AVA. The aroma offers a bouquet of hibiscus, jasmine and peach blossoms leading to flavors of peach, pear and apricot in this fruit forward viognier. We find the wine balanced, smooth and round with a strong mineral finish.

Drink Deeply, Drink Local, Drink Awen.

Yay for Viognier!! Where honeysuckle and orange blossom dance with apricots, tangerines, and crushed almonds. Followed by peaches, pears and glazed pineapple.

Clean and crisp. Easy drinking on a warm summer day. Nice notes of white peach and pear.

2017 Viognier - This vintage, is that of my first experience with Viognier. Even learning how to say the name (Yay for Viognier) was helpful in remembering the pronunciation of this bottle, rhyming the two words. I find this Viognier is light, crisp and airy. An uplifting experience on a sultry summer day, as the cool refreshing taste of pears and apricots float across your palate. Some days, I taste the sweetly acidic flavor of a fresh pineapple, its juices sliding down my throat. Delicious :)
